I went off to Macroom one day because I was looking for a grave for my friend Irene. I did find the grave which was actually great because the local Co. Council graveyard is very big.
Once in Macroom, well, out came the camera and I had to do a walk around. It’s a pretty town. There was a market on the day I was there which was nice to see.
If you want the history of Macroom, then you should go to the history section of the Macroom website at: http://www.macroom.ie/tourism/history-of-macroom
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these photographs :-) For those of you interested, I did manage to take photographs of all the stones in the Church of Ireland but then only a few given the size of the Co. Council graveyard. I have to go back down to finish those photographs. The Church of Ireland photographs will be going on line as soon as we get to indexing them
