KILLEAGH, some inscriptions and an index to the names and dates of all people named on these stones

The information on the stones in this graveyard were transcribed by Mr. Henchion and published in 1973. The is the reference:

Situated 22 miles from Cork on the trunk road to Waterford is the Village of Killeagh. The graveyard is on the road at the western extremity of the village.

4. Erected by Rev.Richd Canon Smiddy, P.P. Aghada, in memory of his mother, Honora, wife of Pierse Smiddy of Ballymakeigh who died July 12 1875, aged 91 years. Also of his brothers, John died March 25 1851, aged 38 years. Michael died March 3 1857, aged 37 years. Lawrence died Jan 22 1847, aged 20 years, and Pierse died Dec 5 1854, aged 25 years. Requiescant in Pace. Amen.

30. The Revd. Patrick Morris Erected This Tomb in Memory of his Beloved Father Redmond Morris of Killeagh who depd this life the 18th day of January 1829 Aged 79 years. Requiescant in pace. Amen.

63. This stone was erected by Wm. Kelly in Memory of his wife Bridget Hennessy who died December the 20th 1784 Aged 23 years. May she rest in peace.

64. I.H.S. John Kelly died the 19th day of April 1767 Aged 72 years. Also his wife Mary Aghern Died 2nd day of February 1770 Aged 61 years.

71. Erected By John Condon in memory of his father Pierce Condon who Depd this Life March 10th 1814 aged 52 years. Also his mother Elizabeth Condon Alias Kelly died Augst 25th 1823 aged 55 years. May their souls rest in peace. Amen

93. Erected to the memory of Mary Ellen and Bridgie Kavanagh who died at Midleton A.D. 1874. By their loving parents Michael & Ellen Kavanagh, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA and of their grandmother Mary Anglum.

97. Erected by Lieutenant Patrick Walsh of Castlemary in memory of his Father and Mother. His father William Walsh Depd this life April 4th 1800 Aged 75 years. Also his mother Mary Walsh died April 20th 1808 aged 63 years.

125. Erected by Mary Troy alias Cunningham of Rieske in memory of her beloved father William Cunningham who died Feb 16th?? (side of page missing!) aged 76 years. Also her mother Elizabeth Cunningham alias Barry who died June 12th 1854 aged 80 years.

142. Remember Death and Fear the Lord. Erected by the Revd. P Hennessy P.P. of Castle Connell, Co. Limerick in memory of his beloved mother Mary Hennessy who died Decbr. 17th 1835 aged 58 years. May her soul rest in peace. Amen.

199. In memory of Elizabeth Frances Boles wife of Rev. John Garde died 11th Sept 1861. And of their daughter Anna Mary Garde died April 19th 1902.

209. Erected by his Fellow Countrymen, to the memory of Timothy Daly of Midleton, who fell fighting for his Country's Independence in Castlemartyr on the night of 6th March 1867 in the 34th year of his age. R.I.P. God Save Ireland.
