Parish of Aghaboe
This parish is divided between the baronies of Clandonagh and Clarmallagh. It is surrounded by the parishes of Kyle, Offerlane, Clonenagh & Clonagheen, Aghaboe, Killermogh, Bordwell and Kildellig. It belongs to the Poor Law Unions of Abbeyleix and Donaghmore, which are also the civil registration districts of Abbeyleix and Donaghmore for purposes of acquiring copies of birth, marriage or death information from the Irish Civil Registers. The Poor Law Union of Donaghmore was discontinued on January 1st, 1887 and registrations for townlands that belonged to that Union will either be found in the civil registration district of Abbeyleix or that of Roscrea from that date forward.
