Parish of Attanagh
Attanagh is a small parish in the Barony of Clarmallagh on the Laois/Kilkenny border, it spreads into Co. Kilkenny. The parishes of Durrow and Rosconnell border it on the Laois side. It belongs to the Poor Law Unions of Abbeyleix in Laois and that of Castlecomer in Co. Kilkenny. These are also the civil registration district of Abbeyleix for purposes of acquiring copies of birth, marriage or death information from the Irish Civil Registers.
