Parish of Castlebrack
This parish lies on the border with Co. Kildare, it belongs in the Barony of Tinnahinch. It is surrounded by the civil parishes of Rearymore, Rosenallis and Ardea on the Laois side., It belongs to the Poor Law Union of Mountmellick, which is also the civil registration district of Mountmellick for purposes of acquiring copies of birth, marriage or death information from the Irish Civil Registers.
