Parish of Clonenagh & Clonagheen

These united parishes are some of the largest in County Laois. The belong for the most part in the Barony of Maryborough West, surrounded by the civil parishes of Offerlane, Rosenallis, Ardea, Borris, Kilcolmanbane, Ballyroan, Abbeyleix, and Aghaboe. The townlands are divided between the Poor Law Unions of Mountmelick and Abbeyleix. The Poor Law Unions are also the civil registration districts for purposes of acquiring copies of birth, marriage or death information from the Irish Civil Registers.
