KILMACTALWAY, a parish, in the barony of NEWCASTLE, county of DUBLIN and province of LEINSTER, 7 miles (w. s. w.) from Dublin City; containing 472 inhabitants and 1575 statute acres.

Here are Castle Bagot, the seat of J. J. Bagot, Esq., a spacious mansion in a well-wooded demesne of about 500 statute acres ; and Ballybane, of A. Grayson, Esq.

It is a rectory, in the diocese of Dublin, and in the patronage of the Archbishop, forming the corps of the prebend of Kilmactalway m Christ-church; cathedral, Dublin, and is held with the union of Clondalkin: the tithes amount to £184. 12s. 4d.

In the Roman Catholic divisions it is part of the union or district of Lucan
