KILLOGILLEEN, a parish, partly in the barony of LOUGHREA but chiefly in that of DUNKELLIN, county of GALWAY and Province of CONNAUGHT, 5 miles (W) from Loughrea, on the road from that place to Ardrahan, containing 939 inhabitants.

It is a vicarage, in the diocese of Kilmacduagh, forming part of the union of Killinane : the rectory is appropriate to the see and archdeaconry of Kilmacduagh, and the vicars choral of Christ-church, Dublin ; the tithes amount to £120, of which £20 is payable to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners, £18 to the Archdeacon, £20 to the vicars choral and £62 to the incumbent.
