Men from County Laois
listed in
the Marriage
License Bonds from the Diocese of Ossory 1739-1804
Please do not ask me any questions concerning this list of names or placenames. I have no other information on any people listed, I am not researching any of these names. - Thank you.
There are in all 211 entries for men in the Marriage Licence Bonds for the Diocese of Ossory, 1739-1804 (Irish Genealogist, 1990-93, Vol. 8, Ed. Raymond Refausse)whose address can easily be identified as being located in Co. Laois (Queen's county in the Marriage Licence Bonds of the Diocese of Ossory. Some of these were bonded to women who also had addresses easily identified as being in the same county, because of this there are some similarities between the Laois Men and Laois Women lists.
These tables are indexed alphabetically by the surname of the man/Groom. Protestant can be taken to cover all religions other than Roman Catholic. In those instances in any column where there is a row of 'X' then the information relative to that person for that column was not listed. I have given each entry on these tables a number and listed the entries relative to the men separately from those of the women inorder to be able to fit my tables as best as possible to the viewing screen. If you find an entry in the tables relating to any man and match up the number beside his name with an entry in the tables relating to women then you will have whatever information there is on that couple.
If you find the script on the tables too small you can adjust the size to suit yourself by going to 'View' on your browser and setting the size you want to view these or any pages at.
For placenames see the following - Ireland Townland database and Ireland on line Interactive maps. If the name is spelled as it was in 1851 or now then it will be found when you search. The townland atlas also allows for partial searches so that if you cannot find the place as spelled in this file then if you use only part of the word as here it may possibly be found using the IreAtlas.
