It is
a rectory, in the diocese of Ossory,
entirely appropriate to the economy estate of the cathedral of St.
Canice, Kilkenny(see Kilkenny City) ; the tithes amount to
£21. 9s.
In the
Roman Catholic divisions it forms part of union or district
of Thomastown, and contains a chapel and a school.
