Killarney Civil Parish, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland

KILLARNEY a parish, in the barony of GOWRAN, county of KILKENNY and province of LEINSTER, 5 miles (s. W:) from Gowran ; containing 581 inhabitants, and 155 statute acres.

It is a rectory, in the diocese of Ossory, entirely appropriate to the economy estate of the cathedral of St. Canice, Kilkenny(see Kilkenny City) ; the tithes amount to £21. 9s.

In the Roman Catholic divisions it forms part of union or district of Thomastown, and contains a chapel and a school.

Here are the ruins of a castle said to have been formerly occupied by the Grace family
