I originally
visted this graveyard in 1998/1999 and transcribed the details of 24
stones which were dated pre 1901 or related to stones which dated pre
1901. All in all, my 24 stones yielded 74 names This year, I went back
to Camross and took a total of 583 photographs, some of which will be
close ups of the same stone. This is one of the Laois graveyards which
is still in use, and I photographed every stone in the graveyard. As
of yet, the new index is incomplete but once I finish it then I will
change the index on this page. As with many of the graveyards I visited
in the past some of the stones could no longer be read.
These
stones were transcribed by Jane Lyons in 1998/1999
Where
two surnames are given for a woman, then one of those surnames was her
maiden name
