Coolraine or Coolrain village, Offerlane Civil Parish, County Laois, Ireland

COOLRAINE, a village, in the parish of OFFERLANE, barony of UPPER OSSORY, QUEEN'S country and province of LEINSTER, 4 miles (N.W.) from Mountrath, on the road to Roscrea (Co. Tipperary); containing 53 houses and 324 inhabitants.

It is a constabulary police station. A boulting-mill has been erected, and there is a dispensary in the village, near which is the parochial school-house, a neat stone building.
