KILKEARY a parish, in the barony of UPPER ORMOND, county of TIPPERARY, and province of MUNSTER, 4 miles (S.E.) from Nenagh on the road to Cashel town; containing 662 inhabitants.

It comprises 2524 statute acres; the land is generally good and mostly under tillage.

Greenanstown House is the seat of Count D'Alton.

The parish is in the diocese of Killaloe, and is arectory, forming part of the union of Ballynaclough and corps of the deanery at Killaloe: the tithes amount to £120.

About 70 children are educated in a private school.
