PUCKANE, a village, in the parish of KILLODIERNAN, barony of LOWER ORMOND, county of TIPPERARY, and province of MUNSTER, 5 miles (N.) from Nenagh; containing 173 inhabitants.
It is situated near the river Shannon, and is a station of the constabulary police. Here is a Roman Catholic chapel belonging to the union or district of Monsea.
