Castle Richard
descriptions from Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Ireland, 1837
CASTLE-RICHARD, a village, in that part of the parish of LISMORE, which is in the barony of COSHMORE, County of WATERFORD, and province of MUNSTER, 3 miles (s w.) from Lismore : the population is returned with the parish.
This pleasant village consists of remarkably neat cottages with gardens in front, and is situated on the south side of the river Blackwater. The surrounding scenery is pleasingly varied, and among its more prominent features is Glencairne, the handsome seat of Gervaise Bushe, Esq., commanding some fine views of the vale of the Blackwater and of the country adjacent.
