KILLEGLAND, or KILLEYLAN, also called KILMEGLAN, a parish, in the barony of RATOATH, county of MEATH, and province of LEINSTER ; containing 473 inhabitants, who are all in the post-town of Ashbourne, of which the parish principally consists.

It is a rectory and vicarage, in the diocese of Meath, forming part of the union of Ratoath : the tithes amount to £54.

In the R. C. divisions also it is part of the union or district of Ratoath, and has a chapel at Ashbourne.

About 120 children are educated in two public schools, one of which is principally supported by the rector.
