Dolla Civil Parish, Tipperary County, IRELAND

DOLLA, a parish, in the barony of UPPER ORMOND, county of TIPPERARY, and province of MUNSTER, 5 miles (S.S.E.) from Nenagh; containing 1041 inhabitants.

This parish is situated at the termination of the Anglesey new road from Tipperary to Nenagh, and intersected by a small river; there is a large tract of mountain bog.

Traverston, the seat of T. Going, Esq., is pleasantly situated in an extensive and well-planted demesne.

It is a rectory, in the diocese of Killaloe, and is appropriate as a mensal to that see: the tithes amount to £161 10S. 9D.

There are some remains of the old church on the demesne of Kilboy. The poor's fund of Kilmore extends to this parish.
