Notes from Laois Archeological Survey:
OS 30:2:3 (434,533) ‘Dysart Ch. (in Ruins), Grave Yd.’ OD 400-500 24907,18267
Church Marked on the 1563 map f leix and offaly (Hore, 1863, f.p. 345). Associated with St. Monahan wh oded in 648 (Comerford 1866, vol. 3, 105-6). Within a roughly triangular graveyard, which is defined by an earthen bank (Wth. C. 1m, int.H c. 1.1m, ext. H c. 0.5m) from NE-SE, is a nave and chancel church (L c. 12.7m, Wth., c. 6.6m., wall T. c. 0.9m) built of roughly coursed limestone. Doorway and ope in N and S walls, and ope in W gable. The segmental chancel arch (Wth. C.2.5m) is constructed of sandstone. All visible headstones postdate 1700. Reference to a cross-base built into a wall at the road side (ibid.) but of which there is no visible trae.

Graveyard has been cleaned and restored. Some stones have silver paint on them. Most were legible.

Goss/McDonald: Erected by Michael Goss/Newark N.J. USA/In memory of his parents/Athony Goss./of Upper Ironmills./Who died July 1846/Also his wife//Mary Goss nee McDonald. /Who died January 1893./RIP

Ryan: This stone ? departed this life/ February Ye/ 1740/Aged M.?Ryan

Hogan: Erected/By/Mrs. Mary Hogan/of Sampson Court/In memory of her husband/Edward Hogan/who departed this life/April 20th 1883/Also her beloved daughter/Margaret who died/March 27th 1886

Duff: Here Lieth the Body of John Duff/who depd this life May the 4th 1808/Aged /?78 yrs, New Plaque on grave: James Duff, Aughnacross./who died 13th March 1947. Aged 65 years./And his wife Margaret./died 6th June 1956. Aged 74 years./

Foyle: In Loving Memory/Of/Patrick Foyle/Knock, Abbeyleix/died 19th June 1958/Aged 76 years./His wife Mary/died 15th May 1961/Aged 71 years./Their sons Patrick & Martin /died young/John Foyle /died 30th Jan 1996/Aged 69 years./RIP/Erected by their son John

Berry: In/Loving Memory of/John Berry./Knockbawn, Spink./died 11th Aug 1911 aged 67 years./Also his wife Annie berry./did 27th July
